The manuscript is primarily pictorial. The Biblia pauperum and religious legends consist of black pen drawings in the Gothic style with short captions. For the Biblia pauperum and the two parables following it, there are two scenes per page, arranged in a top and a bottom register (ff. 1v-31v). From the Wenzels- und Ludmilla-Legende to the story of Maria und der Spieler, the images are in three registers (ff. 32r-49r). They switch back to two registers from the Legende der Maria von Ägypten through the end (ff. 108r-171v). The captions run along the top of the registers and are sometimes on banners held by the figures. Exceptions to that mise-en-page occur at f. 1r and ff. 155v-156r. On f. 1r, there is a full-page drawing of the Queen of Heaven. The drawing on f. 155v is a personification of seven feminine vices, and the next folio is a full-page arrangement of scenes from the life of Mary.
