Painted in a Gothic style known as Muldenfaltenstil or Year 1200 style. Each painted folio has the same format: eight roundels are stacked in four rows of two and the captions are placed in rectangular spaces along the outer edges of the roundels. These elements are all contained in a thin frame decorated with a pattern that is different on each page. The spaces between the roundels are filled with small angel busts in rectangular frames over a background pattern. In the roundels themselves, there are scenes from the Old Testament books mentioned above and typological interpretations of them. The first and third rows of roundels contain the Old Testament scenes, the second and fourth their interpretations. The page frames all use a rose, blue, and gold color scheme. All verso folios have blue backgrounds and rose roundel frames; the recto folio color scheme is reversed. The framed space behind the bust angels and all the roundels are gold. Additional colors used on the figures include light green, non-metallic gold, bright red, and white -- Christ the Geometer (fol. 1v) --
