The manuscript is from the collection of Mont Saint-Michel. The facsimile volume includes photographs of diagrams and decorated pages from Avranches MS 237, which also contains the Boethius text (second half of twelfth century; historiated initials, inhabited initials). Contents of MS. 237 (not copied from 236): Boethius: Treatise on music (Fols. 1-75v) -- Quattuor scilicet tonorum... et octavus similiter (fol. 76) -- six diagrams of the different species (fol. 76r-v).
